Maureen Maloney-Schou, BCO, FASO, FIAOMaureen joined her father, Ben Maloney, at Maloney’s Custom Ocular Prosthetics in 1976. Maureen passed her National Examining Board of Ocularists exam in 1981 and received her Board Certified Ocularist (BCO) accreditation. She also became a Board Approved Diplomate Ocularist (BADO) from the American Society of Ocularists. Ever since, Maureen has held numerous positions within the American Society of Ocularists (ASO), including Education Co-Chair, Member of the Board of Directors, and the President from 2008-2010. In 2002, the ASO awarded Maureen Fellow of the American Society of Ocularists (FASO). This fellowship is a lifelong distinction awarded to a member who has demonstrated a high level of academic achievement and made significant contributions to the profession and the ASO.

Maureen is a member of the Board of Trustees of the International Academy of Ocularisty, where she serves as the Admissions Chair.
Maureen and Kevin were married in Portland, Oregon, in October of 1987 and welcomed their first child Katherine, in April 1991. Three years later, Michael joined the Schou family in November 1994. Michael is now training to become an ocularist, studying under Maureen and Kevin.
Maureen enjoys many hobbies, including golf, cooking, and quilting. She also loves traveling with her husband whenever their schedule allows. Along with the rest of her family, she is a Beaver Football fan.
